Bonjour Paris!

We arrived in Paris just a little after 6PM. We immediately made a reservation for our trip to Amsterdam in a couple of days from now. Then we took the metro to our hotel, which was in Cambronne, only three metro stops away from Montparnasse train station. The whole process of using the metro was simple, except that they lacked in the convenience of ascending and descending from floor to floor. In other words, they only had stairs and no elevators or escalators. With two large luggages and a new duffel bag we bought, the task was difficult, in particular for me since I took the large luggages up and down the stairs.

But at the least the Ibis hotel turned out really close to the metro stop. What more was that we had an awesome, awesome view of the Eiffel tower. Here are some shots from our window, one pic has Sheilla for scale. ;)

And this is the video:

After we reserved our hotel in Amsterdam, the last time we had to do this, we got ourselves ready to stroll to Eiffel tower, having seen it from the window gave us the desire to walk.

We arrived at Champ de Mars, a park similar to Washington D.C.'s Mall. At one end of the park was the infamous Eiffel tower. Since it was already dark, we took a number of pictures with different settings as to capture the lit tower with the best result.

This picture is of the building at the other end of the park:

We got a little closer to the Eiffel tower.

And then we crossed the bridge, Pont D'Iena, up to Place de Varsovie. We took some more pictures before we decided to head back towards our hotel, stopping at a cafe somewhere for late dinner.
