We took the overnight train from Vienna, the connecting city from Prague. The train arrived in Venice the next day in the morning at around 9AM, and we had reserved a room with our bed. It was quite an experience, as I had never been in sleeping car of a train. The room was very small, with beds were made as bunk-beds. There was a small locker to store away stuff and hang clothes. A small table and seat. And a sink conveniently placed so that we didn’t have to use the one in the common bathroom. Sleeping in the train was a little bit more challenging due to the constant movement by the train on the train tracks, the frequent stops, and the air temperature that seemed to oscillate from warm to cold. So we didn’t sleep much, perhaps partly because we were excited to get to Venice.
