We had planned to move to a hotel closer to Amsterdam city center. We've booked Ibis Amsterdam City Stopera located at Waterlooplein. It's within 5-walking minutes to the closest metro train and tram, and only 2 stops away from the Central train station by the metro. Good thing this is so, since we have two large luggages that we have to drag around. In fact, we'll be dragging these around all over Europe. The joy springs up a smile on my face. Fyi, sarcasm.
Ety's husband got us a taxi driver, who didn't really seemed to be a taxi driver. In fact, it didn't seem to be a taxi at all. Perhaps it was a special independent transport service. In any case, we made it there by around 4pm, checked in, and got into our room.
It was definitely a great choice! The room is very clean and modern. Moreover, the bed is big enough to fit us two without sacrificing bed space. Great! And the bathroom is quite chic too.
After putting our stuff away, we decided to go out to get food. By this time, it would be dinner time. So we started walking around, looking for a decent yet inexpensive restaurant. We asked Angie for help, and she pointed out to an Italian restaurant in a quiet little alley. No worries, it was safe there. The items on the menu were mostly only 5 euros each. Lekker! Though Angie couldn't join us, Masha and Zjenja came to dine with us. The food was quite good too.
Afterwards, we just started walking around. It was already pass 8PM, and most shops were closed already. The temperature had dropped significantly too. Moreover, the winds started to appear, making it extra cold. Better yet, freezing. We decided to go to a coffee shop. Mind you, we wanted REAL coffee.
We talked a little more and decided to call it a night. The wind and temperature really started to become too much for us. We noticed that there were still people out riding their bikes. How can they handle the cold? I wouldn't do it, I guess.
